QM9700 upgrade to mlnx-os 3.12.6200

I have some QM9700 IB switches that are currently running MLNX-OS v3.11.2016 and I’d like to upgrade them to v3.12.6200. Looking at the software download path, it says that the steps will take me to 3.12.6000, then a downgrade to 3.12.2400, then finish at 3.12.6200.

However, if I input my current version as 3.12.2400, then the upgrade path goes through 3.12.6000, then to 3.12.6200.

I’m fairly new to Mellanox IB switches, but it seems odd to me to include a downgrade in the upgrade sequence. Is this normal or to be expected? Can I ignore that downgrade step and go right from 3.12.6000 to 3.12.6200 at the end?
