Question about boot up

When I plugin a HDMI cable with a TV and power on, JetsonTK1 will boot up normally.
But if I remove HDMI cable and power on, JetsonTK1 seems hang.
If I plugin HDMI cable again, nothing shows on the TV, and I can’t remote login into JetsonTk1.
So I could only reset it.
Does anybody know how to resolve it?

I use grinch kernel R21.2.1.

You’ll probably need to monitor the serial console during boot without the TV to see what’s happening…there’s just too many possibilities otherwise, whereas serial console may tell you exactly what is wrong.

Isn’t the X11 server default config requires a HDMI video connected. No X11, no remote desktop.
But ssh will work.
