The clockrate of clock() is depended of the gpu clock, but how does it work in emulation mode on a system without a cuda card?

The clockrate of clock() is dependent of the gpu clock (clockrate of processing unit), but how does it work in emulation mode on a system without a cuda card?

Do I need a different faktor to calculate the time in milliseconds? My formula is:

time_ms = (tStop - tStart) / cudaDeviceProp.clockrate;

Is it in emulation mode right or for systems without a cuda card, too?
