Recommendations for Linux Distributions with JetPack 6

Hi ,

I’m currently working with JetPack 6 on Jetson Orin NX, AGX, and Nano devices, utilizing the Ubuntu 22.04 desktop environment for a soft real-time system application focused on video analytics using DeepStream plugins. To reduce resource usage, I’m considering transitioning to a minimal root filesystem. However, I’m also interested in exploring other Linux distributions that are compatible with JetPack 6 for this application.

Could anyone recommend a Linux distribution that effectively balances security, resource efficiency, and performance? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Your post picked my attention, in all my years of experience I have never been in a situation where I would use a different Linux distro with Jetpack, and to be completely honest, I am not even sure if that is possible.

However, for similar projects in the past, were we needed to optimize resource usage and custom make distributions for our customer’s solution, we use Yocto.

Have you considered creating your own Yocto distro ?
