Hello NVIDIA Developer Community,
I hope you’re all doing well!
I’m writing on behalf of Team R2D2, a multidisciplinary team of undergraduate students from Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru, passionate about aerospace engineering, autonomous systems, robotics, and AI.
We are proud to have qualified for SAE Aerothon 2026 Phase II, one of India’s premier UAV competitions, where teams design, build, and fly autonomous aircraft to accomplish complex missions involving computer vision, autonomous navigation, and precision payload delivery.
Our current UAV is being developed with advanced autonomy in mind, featuring real-time computer vision, QR code detection, onboard decision-making, and autonomous flight. A significant part of our system relies on edge AI, and we believe the NVIDIA Jetson platform is the ideal solution to power these capabilities.
We’re looking to incorporate Jetson into our UAV for onboard AI inference and vision processing and would be incredibly grateful if NVIDIA could support us with a Jetson Developer Kit, an educational discount, or guide us toward any available academic support programs.
We would be delighted to share more about our project, our technical approach, and how Jetson will be integrated into our autonomous flight stack. We would also be proud to showcase NVIDIA’s support through our competition, technical presentations, reports, and social media outreach.
