Hi!
I was excited to see the release of Isaac ROS 4.0 late last year (which bumped ROS to Jazzy). However, I am just returning to Isaac ROS now for a new project on my Jetson Orin Nano, only to learn that my Orin Nano is not supported by Isaac ROS 4.0. Darn :)
Do you guys have any plans to make a version of Isaac ROS that supports Jazzy for Orin generation devices? Or, is that already a thing and I am missing something? If not, do you guys have any recommendations in the meantime?
One naive example idea: I need the isaac_ros_compression package. Maybe I could get away with just building it from source in Jazzy? I’m assuming there would be some catastrophic library issue, but haven’t tried yet.
My main issue being: I have been working with Jazzy for the last six months or so and am not really in the position to switch things back to humble. Of course, I could buy a Thor device for my robot–but those things are overkill for my application (not exactly low SWaP). It seems like the Orin generation devices are remaining as the lower SWaP option, so I was (naively) hoping Isaac ROS would continue to support them into newer versions of ROS.
I hope that doesn’t sound like too much of a complaint–just voicing some feedback. Thank you for all the great work you guys do!
