I’m looking to install Rocky Linux 9 on my Jetson Nano device. Has anyone tried this and have experience of getting a solution to work?
It isn’t until the Orin models of Jetson that the mainline kernel is used (specifically, in the L4T R36.x series; L4T is what actually gets flashed, JetPack/SDK Manager are what flash this). You would be on your own to do this porting, but in L4T R36.x (of Orin) this is possible.
For an older Nano (not TX2, not Xavier), the latest L4T you can use is L4T R32.x. You would have to use the NVIDIA kernel from L4T (which is not mainline in that release) before there would be any hope of Rocky 9 install. You would also need to use the L4T release’s version of the Xorg server for that case if you want the GPU to function.
