RTX 5070 Laptop now has 8GB and 12GB versions. How do you tell which one a laptop actually has?

I noticed the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU now comes in a 12GB version alongside the original 8GB one. Both are just called “RTX 5070”, and a lot of manufacturer spec pages don’t say which VRAM the laptop ships with, or bury it in the fine print.

Is there a reliable way to check before buying, other than contacting the manufacturer? Also wondering how much the extra 4GB matters in practice at 1440p, considering TGP already varies a lot between models (50W to 100W as far as I know).

Would love to hear from anyone who has tested both.

Thanks for letting me know, and sorry about that. I posted this here by mistake, as I didn’t realise the forum was limited to developer topics. I’ll take it to the GeForce forums instead.
