RTXradar

Hello,

I’ve successfully set up the RTX Radar in Isaac Sim, both through the GUI and via Python scripting. I’m now evaluating whether the sensor output meets my requirements. Specifically, I’m trying to observe the Radar Cross Section (RCS) values of the detected objects (e.g., cube, sphere, etc.).

So far, I’ve only been able to retrieve the point cloud data, but I haven’t found a way to access the RCS values.

Are RCS values currently available in the radar output, or are they planned for a future release? If they are available, could you please advise on how to access them?

Thank you!
Roni

Hi @roniamit1 The RTX radar sensor in Isaac Sim currently does not expose Radar Cross Section values in its output. The sensor’s primary function is to simulate radar point cloud generation based on geometric rendering, leveraging RTX hardware for acceleration.

I will create an internal request to the team and hopefully we will have something like this in the future!
