I’m getting my screen turned off when gaming and on desktop, it gets turned off really fast and the fans rise in speed greatly while on desktop, in game the screen also turns off but I didn’t experience the rise of fans speed I think.
This started to happen just a few days ago.
First it turned off only a few minutes in game, now it turns off while on desktop too in less than one minute rendering my desktop useless because the only way to have image in the screen again is by restarting the PC, I removed the nvidia drivers and while using nouveau and on desktop it is fine with the screen not turning off.
I’m using an EVGA 1080 Ti with 440.36 drivers on fedora silverblue 31 - Linux 5.3.14-300.fc31.x86_64 nvidia-bug-report.log (538 KB)
I disconnected the power cable for the GPU and connected to other slot on the PSU and with limited testing I did not experience the issue yet, also I was having NVRM MMU write and read errors pertaining to steam app what does that mean?

XID 31 can be caused by many things, was it really just steam, i.e. the integrated browser or did you also play a game, e.g. using proton/dxvk. Furthermore, are you using the stock fedora gnome or some other DE?
