Description: We are encountering two distinct but related issues:
White Screen with Error Message:
The screen randomly turns white with the error message "Oh no, something went wrong."
Background applications continue to run, but the screen remains white.
The issue occurs intermittently during regular usage.
GNOME Shell crashes frequently.
Screen Freezes Completely:
The screen freezes completely, making the system unresponsive.
There is no visible error message, and the system must be rebooted to restore functionality.
Environment Details:
OS: Ubuntu 24
Display Manager: LightDM
Display Protocol: X11
Desktop Environment: GNOME Shell 46.0
GPU: NVIDIA T1000
Driver Version: 470.256.02
CUDA Version: 11.4
Error Symptoms:
In the first issue, GNOME Shell crashes with a white screen and the error message "Oh no, something went wrong."
In the second issue, the screen freezes completely, and no further input is possible.
Background applications continue running despite the screen issues.
I have tried multiple driver versions, but I haven’t seen any progress in resolving the issue.
