SDK Manager - installation of VisionWorks on Host failed

Hi,
Could you please help me with installation errors that I get ?

  1. I use SDK Manager 0.9.14.4961, and it fails on Computer Vision -> VisionWorks on Host.

I get the following errors:

16:02:41 ERROR : VisionWorks on Host : E: Failed to fetch http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/xenial/main/binary-arm64/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.31 80]

16:08:35 ERROR : VisionWorks on Host : apt install failed
16:08:35 ERROR : VisionWorks on Host : command terminated with error

I have done apt-get upgrade and still have this issue.

  1. Can I flash my NVIDIA DRIVE platform with Jetson OS ?

Thanks you,
Slava

Hi yaroslav.taran,

The error shows there is network issue. You cannot run ‘sudo apt-get update’ successfully on your host (PC). I’m not sure whether this is a temporary Ubunturepository server issue or your local network issue.

Besides, the the OS and SDK for Jetson and DRIVE platform are differences, they’re not compatible.

Dear Sir:

I have the same error-- installation of VisionWorks on Host failed

It shows Download 100.7 MB but install Size is 233.0 MB. Even though I completely deleted the sdkm_downloads files under Home/Downloads/nvidia directory and restarted the installation again, it still incurred the same error. It is a recursive error. So I have not way to complete the JetPack 4.3 installation. Please see the following errors reported in Terminal.

19:22:25 ERROR: VisionWorks on Host: E: Version ‘1.6.0.500n*’ for ‘libvisionworks’ was not found.

It did not work after repairing and remove the old host installation from the SDK Manager. While I tried to remove the sdkmanager_1.1.0-6343_amd64.deb and install sdkmanager_1.0.1-5538_amd64.deb. The system poped up the following reminding information.

“”"
A newer version of SDK Manager database was detected on your host machine. This database is not supported by the SDK Manager version you are running.

Continue and SDK Manager will backup the database on your hard drive and will create a new one instead.

I could not delete the database (sdkmanager_1.1.0-6343 created) since I did not find where the database is located. I installed sdkmanager_1.1.0-6343 with Ubuntu Software. So I could not use the old version SDK manager(sdkmanager_1.0.1-5538) to install JetPack 4.3.

It took me about 3 hours for a single installation but fails each time. So it is a quite time-consuming process. I flashed many times on the TX2, but it incurred the same error. How to deal with the JetPack installation problem?

At this moment, the system is stuck in JetPack 4.3 with the Error of VisionWorks on Host. Because Flash Jetson OS is ok, the TX2 can turn on.

In the meantime, how to solve the Error of VisionWorks on Host and complete the JetPack 4.3 installation?

Considering your tensorflow is not ready for JetPack 4.4 DP and might have other dependency problems. It would be much better to install JetPack 4.3.

Please give me an advice.

Best regards

Mike

Hi @mikechen6688,

I assume you’re installing JetPack 4.3 and this issue isn’t related to DRIVE Software installation.
Then you have to report your issue in one of the categories under https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/agx-autonomous-machines/jetson-embedded-systems/70. Thanks!
