I am facing an issue when attempting to install Ubuntu OS on my NVIDIA Orin NX system, which is equipped with a WD Blue SSD (500 GB) and utilizing the NVMe runtime for storage. Below are the specifics of the issue:

  • Model: NVIDIA Orin NX
  • OS Version: Ubuntu
  • Storage: WD Blue SSD (500 GB) with NVMe runtime
  • JetPack Version: 6.2

My WD Blue SSD is properly seated and recognized by BIOS as an NVMe drive.
While attempting to install Ubuntu OS, I encountered the following error:

Orin NX error
Orin NX error1600×900 269 KB

I would greatly appreciate assistance in resolving this issue. If there are specific drivers, firmware updates, or configurations needed for NVMe support or the WD Blue SSD, please let me know. Any known compatibility issues with NVMe storage on the Orin NX would also be helpful.

Based on your log

Either the device cannot mount the NFS server on the host or a flash command has failed. Check your network setting (VPN, firewall,...)

Please disable the firewall and run the sdk manager again.

Please try below commands to disable the firewall and run sdk manager again.

sudo ufw disable

Some questions to confirm

  • Is your device a dev kit or a custom carrier board?
  • Is your host a native ubuntu or a virtual machine(e.g VMware…)
  • Is your NVMe formatted to ext4 before flashing?
