SDK not detecting jetson Orin nano board in initial setup

Hello! First time user here.

I am trying to perform the initial setup steps of the Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit 8GB (SDK Manager method). I am stuck on the step of getting the SDK manager to detect the board. I tested that the USB to USB-C cable I am using to connect the PC to the board is working well. I believe that the correct pins, FC Rec and Ground, are shorted (image attached). The board is powered on with a green light. I am running Ubuntu 22.05. When lsusb is entered in the command terminal, the board doesn’t show up.

I have searched the forum and cannot figure out what I’m missing. How can I fix this and get the manager to detect the board? Thank you!

Hi @Sisyphus01,

I hope you are doing well!

Make sure you have pins FC Rec and Ground shorted before powering the board. Otherwise the board won’t enter recovery mode. After doing this try lsusb again.

Let me know if this helps!

Best Regards,
Nico

In addition to the comment above: are you sure that the connectors are really tightly pushed over the pins? They seem to stick out rather much on your photo. Good luck trying!
