I am running Ubuntu boot from USB stick on physical machine. when I launch SDKmanager I get the following error
“nvidia sdkmanager error [18174:0613/041202.277422:Fatal:credentials.cc(123)] check failed: . : Permission denied (13)”
Then it pauses and states “SDK Manager couldn’t start in GUI mode.”
Suggestions please?
What does this mean?
Is it really installed on the USB disk, or it’s just a live USB?
Yes you are correct it is a live USB stick. It is Ubuntu current version 24.04. I can sudo sdkmanager and it will launch and it can see my Jetson Orin AGX but it will not allow me to select a jetpack version to load since it is running as super user.
Don’t use a live USB. I don’t think it’s ever supported.
We also don’t support Ubuntu 24.04. Use 22.04 instead.
Thank you. I had to build a linux box and it worked correctly from there. I really think there needs to be a better way to do this. We should be able to do this via a linux VM, bootable version, or better yet a MAC. Having to have a physical Linux box is just not something everyone is going to have.
