Signed kernel ubuntu 12.04

I’ve been searching the Internet for an answer to this seemingly simple question with no luck. I am working on a colleague’s new ubuntu 12.04 (precise) install and he just upgraded to a signed linux kernel (requires modules to be signed). I had the nvidia 331.67 module running fine before he changed to a signed kernel. I downloaded 331.79 (with the signed kernel fix) and it builds ok - I tell it to create a new key. At the point .run completes the signed module generation it gives a message indicating that I should add the key to a “trusted” database the kernel uses. I am having trouble finding information about where/how that all works on ubuntu 12.04. It also says something about a README file in the download area at www.nvidia.com, which I cannot find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
bruce
