Simple particles question

I’[ve created a particle animation using GEOMETRIC REPLCATOR. It’s all fine until I want to swap the sprite objects that are emanating from the particle source with a mesh object. Some of your tutorials seem out of date. When I drag a sphere into the particle editor, there is no OG PRIM NODE as in the tutorials. In addition, if I drag the sphere into the PARTICLE EDITOR, I don’t see a sphere not but a SPHERE INPUTPATH node with a magenta pin instead of a blue pin.
So all I want to do is to substitute the sprite object with a sphere. (It will eventually be a kernel of corn mesh object so I’ll need to sub the sphere with that as well.)
Am I barking up the wrong tree?
What am I missing?
I am NOT a python guy BTW.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Yes I am looking to answer this in the other post you made. I have asked the physics team to comment on this. What exactly is this for? Some kind of realtime vfx or simulation or? In the other path you said something about corn.
