I have downloaded the latest DriveInstall 126.96.36.199 from https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-drive-downloads. I have followed the steps in https://docs.nvidia.com/drive/driveinstall_docs/
The initial steps are completed and the required files are downloaded.
The installation then quits and gives a “Validating Packages Failed” error. The problem persists after multiple attempts too.
During one of these attempts, the following error log was created
“Reading package lists…
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?”
Device: Drive PX 2 AutoChauffeur
HOST PC configuration: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Are there any other requirements for a Host PC? Specific to Nvidia drivers maybe.
What might be the cause of the the above error?
