Hi NVIDIA Team,
I’m writing on behalf of the Princeton Rover Team, a student robotics organization at Princeton University that competes annually in the University Rover Challenge (URC).
Our team designs and builds a fully autonomous rover that performs tasks such as off-road navigation, robotic arm manipulation, and autonomous object detection. We are currently working on upgrading our perception and autonomy stack to handle real-world, unstructured terrain, and we would love to do that using NVIDIA Jetson technology.
At the moment, our biggest limitation is onboard compute. We have been developing using smaller embedded platforms (Raspberry Pi), but we’ve reached the limits of what those can handle for real-time vision workloads. The Jetson Orin Nano is the perfect platform for what we’re trying to achieve.
Because our team operates on limited funding, we are reaching out to see if NVIDIA could sponsor us with a Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit (or equivalent Jetson platform) for our 2025 rover. We would be extremely grateful for any support and are more than happy to:
-
Feature NVIDIA’s logo and hardware credits on our rover, website, and outreach materials
-
Share progress updates, benchmark data, and student research developed on Jetson hardware
-
Highlight NVIDIA’s role in empowering student robotics at international competitions
If there is a formal process or contact for academic sponsorships, we would really appreciate it if someone from the NVIDIA team could direct us there.
Thank you for your time and consideration
Best regards,
Aarush Goradia
