Streaming video using netcat (nc or ncat)

I’m trying to find a way to stream video from the camera using nc to mimic a setup I have using Raspberry Pi. On the Pi, I can enter ‘raspivid -t 0 -w 1280 -h 720 -fps 15 -o - | nc 2222’ on the server and ‘nc -l 2222 | mplayer -fps 200 -demuxer h264es -’ to do very simple yet effective streaming, but I cannot find any resources on how to do this with the Jetson Nano.

I do realize that there are more robust solutions such as using gstreamer, but I want to try to duplicate the technique that worked best on the Pi for my usage case. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

On Jetson platforms, we leverage gstreamer to do RTSP or UDP streaming. You ma refer to the topics:

Thank you very much for your reply. I will definitely give this a try. I’ve been avoiding UDP for fear of packet loss over WAN, but I suppose I won’t know how it performs until I give it a try.
