TCC support for Titan Xp not yet implemented?

Ahhh. Thank you for clarifying and also formuliert support in this matter. Appreciated!

The bug-report is still in open status without any updates since I reported it in Jun 13, 2017.

This drives me mad :) I was thinking that TCC mode is the only reason to prefer Titan Xp (1200$) over 1080ti (699$) (because running with WDDM under Windows is mostly meaningless for example because of possibility of 600 ms allocations).

Typical low priority bug with 500$ losses per customer.

Your bug was marked internally a duplicate of another bug in the system. As a result of that, the activity in the other bug (and the fix) are considered applicable to your filed bug.

In the other bug, it was confirmed that the 385.28 driver (released August 14th) fixed this issue. You might want to try that driver. It appears that 385.41 has also been released since then (on August 24th), so that driver is likely preferable, although I would expect either 385.28 or 385.41 to have the fix.

I have triggered an update to the bug as well, you should be receiving a separate notification from the bug system.

Ok so I updated to 385.41 and it killed my render machine… no video output during boot so I can’t fix it too.

And then I had a chat with wome Nvidia people:

Yeshwanth: Hi, my name is Yeshwanth. How may I help you?
Stephan Sturges: hi
Yeshwanth: Hello Stephan
Stephan Sturges: I have a render server with 2 Titan Xp cards that was running fine
Stephan Sturges: but I updated the graphics drivers to 385.41 and I can’t boot any more
Stephan Sturges: the motherboard shows and error at boot that no GPUs are active
Yeshwanth: I am sorry to hear that, I will do my best to help you.
Stephan Sturges: so I think they are both messed up in some way
Yeshwanth: May I know the operating system you are using?
Stephan Sturges: I have no video output to a screen from either GPU so I cannot check anything
Stephan Sturges: windows 10
Yeshwanth: try below steps and check if issue persist
Stephan Sturges: ok
Yeshwanth: Remove the graphics card physically from the computer, connect the cable from the monitor directly to motherboard and uninstall the drivers using below steps.

Try "Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) " to completely uninstall NVIDIA/AMD graphics card drivers and packages from your system, without leaving leftovers behind (including registry keys, folders and files, driver store) :

Download DDU software by clicking below link and click on “official download here option”

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=823

For video reference, please click on below link.

After the download is completed, Double click on it to proceed with the installation. After the Display driver is installed, it would prompt for system restore point creation and booting the computer in safe mode.
Once done, - Select NVIDIA on top and Put a check mark on all the NVIDIA components near the NVIDIA logo.

  • Now click on Clean and Restart- (Highly Recommended)

  • Once the computer restarts and goes to the Windows, shut down the computer, Insert the graphics card and connect the monitor directly to the graphics card and check if you get the display.
-If you get display, try below steps and if still no display, please contact us.

Download the driver using the below link

  • Once the installer wizard begin, accept the license agreement.
  • Select “Custom (Advanced)” install option and then click Next.
  • Put a checkmark in the “Perform clean install” option and then click Next.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Stephan Sturges: not possible my motherboard has no video output
Stephan Sturges: it’s an AMD system with x370 motherboard
Stephan Sturges: otherwise I would have tried that ;)
Yeshwanth: reseat the graphics card once and check.
Stephan Sturges: how can I reset it ?
Stephan Sturges: if you mean remove and put back in the pci slot I have tried this
    Yeshwanth: tried different graphics card?
Stephan Sturges: no I don’t have any others to try
Yeshwanth: Are you able to login to safe mode?
Stephan Sturges: I have tried removing these and putting only one in and it doesn’t work
Stephan Sturges: no I can’t log in to any mode, I can’t even see the BIOS screen
Yeshwanth: My computer is restarting due to IT updates, I will have to transfer you to my colleague for further troubleshooting.
    Stephan Sturges: ok…
Prakash: Hi, my name is Prakash. How may I help you?
    Yeshwanth has left the chat.
Prakash: Let me check previous case details.
    Stephan Sturges: Hi Prakash
Stephan Sturges: yes please see above
Stephan Sturges: do you have any ideas?
    Prakash: Give me a moment
    Stephan Sturges: yep
Stephan Sturges: Ok Prakash this is taking too long…

I was able to roll back the drivers to 385.28 using a different GPU and got the system working again, now I can set the GPU’s to TCC.
