Tegra194-vi5 err_data interpretation

We have a frame error condition that results in the following output to dmesg:

Jul 16 23:00:14 experimental kernel: tegra194-vi5 15c10000.vi: corr_err: discarding frame 0, flags: 0, err_data 512
Jul 16 23:00:14 experimental kernel: tegra194-vi5 15c10000.vi: corr_err: discarding frame 0, flags: 32, err_data 165
Jul 16 23:00:14 experimental kernel: tegra194-vi5 15c10000.vi: corr_err: discarding frame 0, flags: 0, err_data 131072

Is there any information about what the contents of ‘err_data’ represents? From examining vi5_fops.c and camrtc-capture.c, it looks like the second line indicates CAPTURE_STATUS_FLAG_ERROR_CSIMUX_FRAME is set (“flags:32”). However, I’m not sure what the err_data represents and am hoping we can use it to provide further clues about what went wrong. This error occurred after about 45 minutes of normal operation.

Any insight?

Thanks.

hello tscott-jdes,

may I know what’s your environment setups.
for example,
which JetPack release version, what’s your pipeline to enable camera functionality, what’s your system configuration…etc.

it should be stability issue since you’re able to run your use-case for a while,
could you please refer to Supported Modes and Power Efficiency chapter, please configure Xavier as maximum performance mode to narrow down the issue.
thanks
