# tegrastats details

Hi,

I am trying to profile the encoder/decoder performance. I am using tegrastats for measuring the load.  
I am not able to find any documentation that explains the fields reported in the tegrastats.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Regarding tegrastats, here is the details for your reference:

sudo ~/tegrastats  
[sudo] password for ubuntu:

EMC – external memory controller, bus%@MHz  
AVP – audio/video processor, processor%@MHz  
VDE – video decoder engine, %MHz

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have a couple of observations regarding the VDE. Should H264/H265 video decode result in increase in VDE stats?

When I run the gstreamer pipeline for video decode and playback, the VDE stats remain at 0.
