tesla c1060 on ubuntu linux 11.10 not recognized

Hi,

I have plugged my Tesla card into the machine running Ubuntu 11.10.
Running lspci does not return anything regarding the Tesla card. In dmesg file there is nothing as well.
The card receives power as indicated by the green LED. The card is in working order as it is running on
my older machine.

Does anybody have any experience running it under Ubuntu 11.10 (Kernel 3.0) or any suggestions in general?

I have done some more investigation and the situation is very strange:

  1. Using a pci-pcie bridge and the same power source as the motherboard, works. I do not want this solution as the pci bridge is slow.
  2. Using a pci-pcie bridge and an alternative power source as the motherboard, does not work.
  3. Connecting the card to the pcie slot and using the same power source as the motherboard, produces hardware error (beeps) and the system does not
    boot.
  4. Connecting the card to the pcie slot and using an alternative power source as the motherboard - the system boots, but the card is not recognized.

In all 4 cases the LED indicating power is always green.

Any suggestions?
