I don’t know 100%, but: If the plug-in is written in standard CUDA, it really really should work. Tesla can do all the CUDA stuff, the only thing it can’t do is drive a monitor.
Do you need to calculate very big dynamics sets? The Teslas are very good for BIG calculations, tons of RAM on the card, but the normal video cards like GTX 260-295 are IMO better for the money in other cases.
I don’t think the version of PhysX used in the 3DS MAX plug-in includes CUDA acceleration currently. You would need to simulate a very large number of bodies to get a good speedup over the CPU.
