Vooo… Profiler having a bad effect… Good find! Nice!

It may be useful to someone interested in traking the evolution of the hardware. Here are the numbers for a GT 8600 plugged on a Core 2 Duo T7300 (without profiler):
[codebox](method 2) compute on device 6.35002 ms
(method 3) copy + compute on host 42.3187 ms
[/codebox]

Interesting. Here’s the performance on my laptop which has a Quadro NVS 160M and a Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.4 GHz. Keep in mind this GPU only has one SM! :)
[codebox]
(method 2) compute on device 13.3738 ms
(method 3) copy + compute on host 33.6119 ms
[/codebox]

Obviously an old thread but I’d be curious for some tips. When I run this code on a 580 I get the following. Based on my specific hardware compared to that used in the examples I was expecting to at least match the posted performance but I’m actually much slower - any tips? I’m on a i5 Windows 7 system.
(method 2) compute on device 8.83779 ms
(method 3) copy + compute on host 220.683 ms
