Two graphics card with cuda

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I know that you can’t use two too different graphics cards on the same driver, so I would like to know with which additional graphics card I can use my 3070 rtx, for example Blender (linux or Win11).

Thank you.

my question is complicated?

I guess it depends what your definition of “too different” is.

Looking at Table 4 here: https://docs.nvidia.com/datacenter/tesla/drivers/#cuda-drivers

you should be able to get an idea of how far back an architecture you wish to go and still maintain driver compatibility with your Ampere card.

Bear in mind any minimum GPU arch requirements that Blender requires, (if any).

Later: One caveat, mixing Tesla and Geforce cards will add an extra level of complication re. driver compatibility, so it may pay to stick to getting a second Geforce card.

So any graphics card with a minimal maxwell type architecture (maxwell for Blender specs) and ‘Ongoing’ for the nvidia driver to support both cards. like an NVIDIA quadro M4000, if I understand correctly.

Yes and if you want peace of mind, you can go to Nvidia’s driver download page, choose “Quadro M4000” as the card and if you look under the “Supported Products” tab, you’ll see this and RTX3070 listed.
