I’ve searched for the issue and tried too many proposed solutions to remember exactly where I am at the moment (including multiple remove all NVIDIA drivers and reinstall, install the recommended driver, switch from X11 to Wayland, simply unplug and re-plug the monitor, new HDMI leads)
I will attach the nvidia-bugreport.sh output in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction.
Please note that the second monitor appears to be listed correctly (to me at least - but I’m no expert!) in all commands I’ve tried and shows up in ‘Display Settings’ etc. I can move my mouse onto the second monitor area, but the display remains stubbornly black.
Thank you for taking the time to read my issue and respond.
My apologies, I am probably missing something obvious but the latest driver version I seem to be able to install from the repos is 580.95.05….
I have changed to this driver - but no difference, still one black monitor.
I should add that what changed from a working configuration was that I was lucky enough to receive a new 49” wide monitor for Christmas to replace the old dual monitor setup I had (driven as 2 separate HDMI connected monitors) - so only the monitors have changed, no other hardware or software changes. Additionally, it seems that the boot up screen and GRUB boot menu are no longer visible.
Edit: I seem to be having a problem in uploading the bug report at the moment, will keep trying - When I upload the bug report, I just get a ‘spinner’ saying ‘Processing upload’ and the text ‘Uploading nvidia-bug-report.log.gz’ in the bottom of the edit window. (I get the same issue with uploading the log file with both Firefox and Chromium browsers)
