TX1 Post Installation Flashing Hangs

Hello,

I am trying to update the JetPack on my current TX1 dev kit. I have tried this multiple times, but whenever the Post Installation step goes to the Flashing stage, there seems to be no progress later (the screenshot attached). I read in the Docs that flashing might take up to 10 minutes or more on slower systems.

I have waited for an hour, but there has been no update ever since.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 in Virtual Box. I understand that the official method requires a host with Ubuntu installed natively but I have a macbook. I have been able to successfully install the JetPack 3.1 in the past.

Any thing obvious from the screenshot? I can provide other information if needed.

Thanks,
Bhargav

It looks ok up to that point. Is the host a VM? VMs typically cause issues such as this.

Hi linuxdev,

Yes, it is a VirtualBox VM. I am not sure if there are other feasible and quick solution right away. I only have a MacBook Pro.

As I mentioned, I was able to install JetPack 3.1 (several months ago) using VM.

There was a post on some tips for making a VM work, but it seems much is related to luck. See:

I quite agree. I could successfully install JetPack 3.1 again in just 12 minutes. I will keep using 3.1 as of now and figure out a way of getting 3.2 later.
