TX1SOM Module has changed; need to know electrical and/or software differences from the first generation.

Why do you say so? Did you get two kinds of TX1SOM?
NVIDIA has confirmed a design change for the module. The carrier board does not work the same with the new design. We are trying to find the errata data to confirm what exactly is different.
Would you check the module part number or version you have The schematic have some small update for different version.
Software should be same for different board. usually software will implement changes depend on hardware version.
