Hello,

Few steps to try

  1. Try with hotplug HDMI. That is, you connect your display cable after system is up. We can see if skipping bootloader helps.

  2. How about the result of changing monitors?

  3. Could you share the dmesg during the 5 mins monitor blanking?

In fact, your xorg log shows the best resolution that we support is 1280x720_60. The next one is 720x576_50. This matches your description.

Wayne,
Thank you for responding quickly.

  1. hot plug does not work. same symptoms as hdmi plugged in on boot
  2. changing monitors does not work, same as above
  3. dmesg attached Dropbox - tx2_bad_video_dmesg.txt - Simplify your life

I captured dmesg for full boot up sequence, then it comes online as 1280x720, then after a few minutes it shuts off. then I did the hotplug test.

Anything else to try?

-Charles

According to log, i2c seems fail to read edid. Are you using nvidia devkit? It looks like a hardware issue.

[ 209.328273] tegradc 15210000.nvdisplay: hdmi: edid read failed
[ 209.334304] tegradc 15210000.nvdisplay: hdmi: using fallback edid

Wayne,

Yes I am using the TX2 developers kit.

Yeah I figured it was hardware related… since nothing software wise had changed since my last use. I turned it on this week after a period of non-usage and it just did not work.

I did keep it safe, it was not dropped or damaged, or anything.

Can I submit a RMA request?

-Charles

charlesua8r9,

If changing HDMI cable also not works (I believe you had tried), please submit a RMA request.
