TX2 Remote Desktop

Hello,
your board is having issues with allowing remote desktop. opening the section of the settings results in crash.
ubuntu 18.04
also, only 1 usb port and 1 micro for this dev board??? really
thanks

Hi,
Please share details about your usecase and the issue. We have SQA tests for usecases and probably certain cases are not covered. Would be great if you can give more information.

There is one USB type-A port and one micro-B port on default developer kit. If you need different USB lane mapping, you may check carrier boards from our partner, or refer to adaptation guide to design the custom carrier board.

I have the TX2 with Ubuntu 18.04. when I go into settings, click on desktop sharing, settings crashes. I tried this multiple times to no avail. I would provide more details than this, but I have not done anything else to the board to result in crash. What kind of details do you need?

If you run command β€œdmesg --follow” in a terminal prior to triggering this, and then watch for whatever new content shows up due to the crash, then you could copy and paste this and it would be useful. You might need to use serial console or ssh to access this if you lose the GUI as well as the one settings app.

You could also run the command β€œtail -f /var/log/Xorg.0.log” at the same time in another terminal, and in a similar way, watch for whatever β€œnew” shows up upon crash, and post that to the thread.

Someone will also need the release, so post the content from β€œhead -n 1 /etc/nv_tegra_release”.

If you have not yet rebooted after the crash, you might save a copy of file β€œ/var/log/apport.log”, give it a β€œ.txt” file name extension, and attach that to the forum as well.

This should help you to fix your issue @baselch13
