TX2 Support for 8b compressed

Hi,

We are trying to capture from a custom MIPI device that provides 8b Compressed Non-Linear Monochrome Output, is this data format supported? 10b compressed mode is another option.

Also if it is supported by the hardware, is it already supported at the kernel? I was looking at vi headers and video formats doesn’t contains anything related with compressed modes. Just wondering if I am missing something.

Regards,
Carlos A.

hello Carlos001,

FYI, monochrome sensor is able to supported staring from l4t-r32.3
you may still extend the color format types in the VI drivers.

besides,
there’s demosaic kernel selection need to be done.
please also contact with Jetson Preferred Partners for camera solutions.
thanks

Hi JerryChang,

Thank you for your prompt response, we are going to check l4t-r32.3. about monochrome support.

But does this means that the hardware (TX2 in this case) supports “8bit compressed” data format?

Carlos A.

hello Carlos001,

may I know what’s the pixel formats of your “8-bit compressed” data format?
please refer to similar discussion thread, Topic 1067424.
VI did not support RGB888 memory formats due to it’s necessary to add luminance format.
thanks

Hi JerryChang,

Thank you for your response we are checking with hardware provider to get more information about 8-bit compressed format.

Regards.
