ubuntu 14.04 cuda 8 driver repo does not support pascal

We use the Nvidia cuda repo to instlall/update cuda

% cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cuda.list
deb http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/repos/ubuntu1404/x86_64 /

Cuda 8 installs with a driver 361.93 that does not support the Titan X pascal and is the latest driver in the repo. The 16.04 repo has the 367.48 driver. Can someone update the Ubuntu 14.04 repo with a driver to support a pascal card. Thank you.

Use the information contained in the CUDA install guide to install CUDA 8 properly.

http://www.nvidia.com/getcuda
http://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-linux/index.html#axzz4LqlF8RdN

i.e. download this:

http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/repos/ubuntu1404/x86_64/cuda-repo-ubuntu1404_8.0.44-1_amd64.deb

Then do this:

Installation Instructions:

sudo dpkg -i cuda-repo-ubuntu1404_8.0.44-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cuda

Yes that is how we install. As I explain above, the Cuda 8 Ubuntu 14.04 repo comes with the 361.93 driver that cannot see Titan X pascal video card.
