UEFI Nvidia vga console complaints

They call these “necroposts”?

HP Pavilion a1240n. Running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 64-bit. was tracking down problems and the below message popped up in the dmesg ring:

[ 32.276398] pmd_set_huge: Cannot satisfy [mem 0xbe000000-0xbe200000] with a huge-page mapping due to MTRR override.
[ 33.665214] NVRM: Your system is not currently configured to drive a VGA console
[ 33.665224] NVRM: on the primary VGA device. The NVIDIA Linux graphics driver
[ 33.665229] NVRM: requires the use of a text-mode VGA console. Use of other console
[ 33.665233] NVRM: drivers including, but not limited to, vesafb, may result in
[ 33.665237] NVRM: corruption and stability problems, and is not supported.

This computer’s BIOS hasn’t a clue what UEFI is. The only reference I see to video mode settings is that either the onboard driver or a PCI-plug in can be used.
