Unable to flash nvidia jetson xavier nx using sdk manager

Hello I have been using jetson for the last one year, and today I planned to reset my jetson xavier nx with seed studio carrier board. When I try to flash i have followed jetson hacks and when I try to connect to my computer for flashing the led at type c does not turn and my computer does not recognise what to do.
Im worried and I have spend 80,000 rupees on this.

Moving to Jetson xavier NX forum for support

Our official bsp or sdk manager not support seeed studio.
Please reach out the vendor to get the cutomized bsp and flash it.

Thanks

I have flashed with the exact same model earlier using sdk manager so I know it work. Btw what does bsp mean

Also when I type lsusb nothing related to jetson comes up? But when i connect HDMI I can see nvidia screen and I can enter boot setup. Can I do anything from jetson itself.

Board Support Package. customized kernel and other driver package for your carrier board so that it can be flashed using flashing scripts.

For flashing jetson, you should make jetson device enter in to recovery mode.

If it is in recovery mode, you see the jetson listed as “NVidia Corp” in the lsusb list on the host pc terminal.

for making the jetson device enter in to recovery mode, check this link:

Still unable to resolve, the reason who tried to reset was because I accidentally deleted usr folder. When I did that sudo reboot was also not working. So I thought I’ll reflash but now usb not detecting jetson. Only thing I can do is using HDMI I can enter boot setup. Can someone help me on this.

So how did you put your board into recovery mode? Do you have steps to provide? or you don’t even know what I am talking about for the recovery mode?

You cannot just keep telling something didn’t work without telling what you really tried there.

Ok, I have deleted usr folder then nothing worked, then i disconnected power to jetson. Installed SDK manager on my linux laptop, I have shorted GND pin and reset pin and tried running lsusb on my host it does not recognise. I tried connecting to my monitor I see nvidia logo and options like press esc to bootsetup and then I press esc on my keyboard and I can see bootsetup menu. If I did not press esc the jetson shutdown.

Hi,

Ok, I have deleted usr folder then nothing worked,

I totally have no idea why you are doing this. No one asked you to do this.
Reflash does not care about what is your previous status of your board. So you don’t need to do anything on your board file system anymore.

To enter recovery mode, you should short ground and REC pin. Not reset pin.
Back to our previous comment here. As you are using a custom board, we are uncertain how your board to enter recovery mode. For NV devkit, it is REC pin short to ground.

Also, when your board is in recovery mode, basically it won’t give you response. Which means you should not see any “NVIDIA logo” on your monitor connected to Jetson.

If you see NVIDIA boot logo still comes out, then it means you didn’t put it in recovery mode.

As you can see from the above images. When touch the same pins GND and system reset button with key the fan spins with jumper nothing happens. The jetson is not being recognised by laptop at all.

Quick update, I have read online was shorting the wrong pins there is force rec pin and gnd with a nice cable. My host computer finally detected. I am currently flashing will update here what happens.

So i started the flasing process and get the below error INFO: Flash Jetson Linux - flash: /tmp/tmp.Cuc6DeQieU /home/madhubmvs/nvidia/nvidia_sdk/JetPack_5.1.5_Linux_JETSON_XAVIER_NX_TARGETS/Linux_for_Tegra

Hello,
I have tried once again this time I flashed in emmc, the flash was successful in the end during flashing in terminal it said to do system reset, basically shorting system reset and gnd pins and then flashing was successfull.
Now I have connected to monitor and tried turning on
I get the error below saying panic mode and it’s not starting getting a blank screen.
What to do now.

As the flash is done, please file a new topic for the boot issue.

And check below website to know how to dump log.

We don’t use such “photo from screen” to check logs.

Hello,
A quick update, when turning on during nvidia logo I had to manually select boot from emmc and the system is functioning. But I’m having to do this everytime in turn on and it’s not feasible when I don’t have monitor. How do make it boot from emmc by default.

As I already mentioned, your flash issue has been resolved. Please file a new topic to ask your new quesiton.
