Unable to flash SD card to Jetson

Followed the setup guide to flash to microSD card. My jetson runs on the older UEFI firmware, so I tried flashing Jetpack 5.xx, but it never boots up and power cycles. When I tried flashing Jetpack 6.xx, I am able to boot the device, however I am stuck in BIOS and although it recognizes to the SD card, it cannot boot from it. Please let me know potential fixes. I’m aware you can use SDK Manager to achieve the same result, however I do not own any Linux devices and I have already read that WSL cannot achieve the same thing.

Use the rpi-imager from raspberry pi to flash your SD card. Go into custom and select your image. It will burn it properly, that is all we use here. Some other issues could be at play on this like the SD card could be flaky??? Their SD card images do work well.

You don’t need much of a box to run Debian or Ubuntu, we buy older dell workstations with at least gen3 or better NVMe and minimum 4 cores for less $100 USD. If you are planning to do some serious work you will need to use a native ubuntu box. Also, if you get a KVM switch you can run the windows box and ubuntu box from the same monitor and keyboard with just a button press.

Hi @maxwelltheyang

I have updated the Initial Setup Guide, and added a note for the case when you don’t get any video output with JetPack 5.1.3 SD card under Step 2️⃣-5.

I also added the full walk-through video demonstrating all the steps from opening the box to setting it to MAXN mode.

Could you give this guide another try?
