Unable to install Nvidia Driver on Ubuntu 18.04 because no Nvidia Drm is founded

Hey, i am new using ubuntu, I am using a gtx 1650 with intel i7 9750 in a lenovo y540. I have an issue with installing Nvidia driver without removing safety boot. I ahve follow the step in (https://askubuntu.com/questions/1023036/how-to-install-nvidia-driver-with-secure-boot-enabled), but it cannot run the Nvidia driver installation because of no NVIDIA drm is found. As i check with uname -r command, my linux kernel is 5.0.0-32-generic. Beside that my laptop cannot connect to HDMI, and it doesnt detect HDMI. Is it because there are no NVIDIA driver?

It’s possible. I don’t happen to know the specific design of the y540, but if the HDMI port is electrically connected to the NVIDIA GPU, and you don’t have a proper driver loaded for the NVIDIA GPU, you wouldn’t be able to output anything on HDMI.

I don’t have any specific instructions that detail how to load Ubuntu properly on a y540.
