Unable to read EDID after nvidia drivers installation

nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (990.0 KB)

Hi,

GPU: Nvidia geforce 1070
nvidia drivers: 435
kernel: 5.4.0-40-generic

I get an error during the boot saying " warning: GPU:0: Unable to read EDID for display device HDMI…"
The computer starts with a wrong resolution and it’s impossible to change resolution.
When I purge the drivers and switch to nouveau, the computer starts with the right resolution.
Up to 2 days ago, dual screen was working on linux mint 19.3 tricia. Came home, one screen was gone and the other one had a wrong resolution.

I have changed/upgraded/downgraded kernel and nvidia drivers (435 440 450) and even upgraded to linux mint ulyana.

The nvidia drivers are loaded, nouveau is blacklisted, secure boot is disabled, not sure what to change now.

I will try and sort out the second screen later but I guess it might be the same problem.
