Uninstalling Omniverse on Ubuntu Linux

Hello,

I installed Omniverse to my local dev workstation with the intent of evaluating Isaac Sim. I’m done with the evaluation, and would like to completely remove Omniverse from my workstation. However, I have been unable to locate documentation explaining how to do this. I’m running Ubuntu Linux 18.04, Cinnamon desktop.

Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Rick

P.S. some observations:

  • The binary AppImage silently installed the Omniverse Launcher in such a way that it pops up on my desktop at startup, and sits in my System Tray. That’s really obnoxious (the “silent” part).
  • The System Tray interface provides a checkbox that supposedly lets me turn of the auto-startup thing, but it doesn’t work. At login, I’m still confronted with a giant Omniverse Launcher window.

For posterity, I figured-out how do do this, and it’s painless (not ‘obnoxious’ at all):

  • Menu->Startup Applications.
  • Select omniverse-launcher.
  • Click “Remove”.
    At next reboot, Launcher won’t run. If you’d like to re-enable it, just run the AppImage again.
