I downloaded the reworked dlss plugin. I’m asking specifically what I do with it? Do I unzip it to a plugins folder in my project or engine?
Do you plan to use the plugin for just one project or multiple? That will determine whether it goes into the project Plugins
folder or the engine-wide Plugins
folder. This is pretty basic Unreal Engine knowledge…
Okay I got it DLSS installed to 5.5 with RR. Do you have any information on commands or creating blueprints to use the ray reconstruction or to activate it
Providing me this information would be incredibly helpful. There is zero help on DLSS on the unreal forums.
Also any idea why when I enable the dlss in command prompt nothing happens? Says it’s on but my framerate doesn’t change. Also is rr enabled by default when dlss is on?
Is there any news on when this version of DLSS will be coming out? Workflow is super effected by not having the Awesomeness of DLSS. Please, give us something!
Try the fix above released by paolofalomo. It seems to work. Let me know if you’re able to get the sample project working with it though. I can’t figure it out. Help is pretty scarce around here
I don’t quite understand what’s going on—whether the release of the next version has been delayed this much before, or maybe we’re just a bit impatient. But it’s true that there’s no news, no one knows anything, and it feels a little strange.
I don’t know the exact timeframe on the last one but it always seems to be a pretty long wait. I think the fix above works but I haven’t gotten enough help here despite asking for months on this and the Unreal forums to know for sure.
IMHO its maybe 4.0 at the works and skipped to relase with RTX 50xx.
Well, honestly, I hope not, because I have a game in development that’s on hold, and using an unofficial version to face more problems doesn’t seem like a mid-term solution to me.
Yes, now Iam sure now that is the case new dll propably will be backward compatible and only Multi Frame gen tech will be blocked for older gpus.Nice that RT will perform better. So next month is imho scenario when we get 5.5 plugin

Hi everyone! A warm welcome to all the new people in this thread and a happy new year.
With all the exciting announcements at CES with respect to new GPUs and a new version of DLSS you can imagine that the group of people working on anything DLSS were rather busy.
That also means that I do not have exact information on ETAs for either an updated UE5.5 plugin or even less so for any DLSS4 integration to UE. As soon as anything can be announced, we will share it more widely.

do you think your version works with VR? The official does, although it is not officially supported (as far as I know).
I haven’t tested it yet. I’ve a Pico 4 VR Headset so i might give it a try. I see no reasons to not be working.
Thank you @MarkusHoHo , it’s a pleasure to me and since it’s an hotfix i did for myself it takes nothing to me to share it to the community.
I understand the “timing” of the release of UE 5.5 wasn’t really good fo you guys with the CES and we will wait for the official one.
As far as i know the fix i did works good for DLSS but not for FrameGen. Sadly the NVIDIA “magic recipe” it’s hidden in the .dll files so it’s not easy to me to work just with the .h files and “guessing” what to fix and how.
Again, this fix will just allow people to not interrupt the pipeline.
I think (but maybe others may agree and in case feel free to give it a like) that i prefer to wait “more” for a stable DLSS 4 for UE 5.5 instead of a fixed version of the current DLSS version (3.7.20) for UE 5.5.
We, as game developers, need NVIDIA (and other companies) for the best hardware to run our games as best as possible. It’s also true that you need us (INDIE or not) to sell your graphics cards.
All the software in the middle is just our exchanging coin. That’s the partnership that pays off to everyone.
The 25gb file is a working 5.5 version of DLSS sample? I’m in a hotel and don’t have the bandwidth at the moment to check it.
