NVIDIA Jetson Thor Developer Kit ships with a bundled USB-C power supply (Delta Electronics ADP-240LB, 240W). This bundled supply is required for heavier/more strenuous workloads. Other power supplies connected via USB-C or MicroFit are not forbidden, but may not be able to sufficiently handle higher power loads. A supply capable of continuous 5A@28V with transient peaks to 7.5A may work. If instability occurs under heavier workloads with a non-bundled supply, switch to the bundled one.
UPDATE 7/2/2026: clarified that the bundled supply is required specifically for heavier workloads; other supplies meeting the spec above are not forbidden.

In our customer scenario, the Micro-Fit input is much more convenient (e.g., for secure locking in battery or industrial 24V setups).
Could you share any specific instability cases that might occur when using Micro-Fit instead of the bundled USB-C?
I am currently working on a system for passive cooling of the Jetson Thor. We have already developed our own carrier for the Thor and are now in the process of stressing the hardware in order to test the cooling system.
During comparative measurements, we noticed that the Developer Kit draws more power than our carrier under the same workload and with the same power mode (including jetson_clocks).
Do you know what could explain this difference? Are there any other parameters besides power modes and jetson_clocks that can influence power consumption?
I just order this one from Arrow 945-14070-0087-000 can you tell me if this power adapter will work in HK and Thailand ? If not can i use a USB-C power like the one from UGREEN Nexode 100W USB C Charger with 4 USB-C Ports ? I have some in the lab to power modules. Eventually i also have models that go up to 150W.
This Jetson Thor Dev Kit SKU comes with AC power cords for US (NEMA 5-15P plug), India (IS 1293 plug), and Thailand (LP-23A plug). So it could work in Thailand but would need a plug adaptor in Hong Kong.
That power supply is underpowered for Jetson Thor Dev Kit so it may be able to boot but any strenuous applications would likely cause the power supply to shut down.
This supply could work if it can handle the transient peak load of 7.5A@28V as mentioned above.

Hello, I have a question about the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor developer kit. How can I achieve automatic power-on? I have already used a jumper to short pins 6 (PIN ACOK_CON) and 5 (CCG_READY) on the carrier board’s J42, but sometimes it still doesn’t work. I also couldn’t find any related settings in the UEFI interface.
can you explain what you mean here? you state that the USB-C is ‘required’. making it sound like we cannot use the micro fit connector to power the jetson thor developer kit.

assuming that there is no custom signal logic that is exchanged through the USB-C port, and it is just providing power, I could take the included USB-C cable and provide the proper power supply for the jetson thor this way. Or if you could provide a USB-C cable part number that i can order to do this that has the proper specs that’d be great.
can I do that with the USB-C? if that is not recommended, will the thor not power on at all if we use the microfit connector? or will it still power on but there can be issues with the power supply from the micro-fit connector? @ChrisB_NV
The issue is the amount of continuous and peak current provided by the power adapter. Some high load cases do not work with other power supplies and the policy was changed to require Jetson Thor Dev Kits to be used with the included USB-C power adapter.
Jetson Thor can boot when powered through MicroFit but higher load cases may result in system shutdown if the power supply cannot handle the load.
can you please provide the proper USB-C cable part number that is up to spec for us to power the Jetson Thor developer kit through USB-C?

again, many of us need to be able to power the device via a DC power source, without using an inverter.
we need to know a part number of the proper spec USB-C cable with one end being the USB-C connecter and the other pigtails (of only the power lines for the USB-C assuming there is no custome start up logic needed with the signal wires)
so we need answered:
1.) are the only wires needed for the USB-C cable to start the device the power lines? or do we need other wires in the USB-C (that is, is there custom logic the jetson thor needs to start up by requiring signals from other pins from the usb-c?)
2.) If the answer to 1 is that we only need the power lines, what is the part number to USB-C that we can use. that is, something like a USB-C connector on one end, power line pigtails on the other end, etc.

USB-C power delivery (PD) requires the CC line for the USB-PD IC on the Dev Kit to communicate with the power supply to determine the supply’s capabilities and negotiate the operating voltage, so it is not as simple as connecting the other end of the “USB-C pigtails” to a power source. Without the CC line, the default is 5V and would be below the minimum requirement of the carrier board.
A different power supply supporting continuous 5A@28V and transient peaks to 7.5A may work but only the ADP-240LB 240W power supply has been validated by NVIDIA with the Jetson Thor Dev Kit for performance and stability.
As @ballets-yaks-0x mentioned many people want to power this from a DC source. Why would a voltage converter like this cheap one from Amazon not provide sufficient power for the MicroFit connector?
Also what about a USB PD triggering board like this?
