User Permissions and Credential Reset Required After Nucleus Omniverse Upgrade

Hi,

We recently upgraded our Nucleus Omniverse server to the version 2023.2.5 from 2023.2.3, and following the upgrade, we encountered a change in user permissions. Specifically, we had to reset the credentials for all users after the upgrade in order for them to regain access. This change was unexpected, and we would like to understand the root cause behind this behavior.

Could you please provide insights on the following:

  1. Is this a known issue when upgrading the Nucleus server, where user credentials or permissions are affected?
  2. Are there any specific configuration changes or steps that need to be followed post-upgrade to avoid resetting user credentials?
  3. Could this behavior be related to how authentication or user roles are managed in the latest version of Nucleus?

Any guidance or documentation that addresses this would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Thanks for posting. Yes this is very concerning. I will investigate with the nucleus engineers, and get back to you.

Can you validate the install location and data location in launcher. Likely this has changed from a launcher update. If this is changed, nucleus has no way of knowing it wasn’t intended and will start up a new instance in the new directory
