Vague error cuda installer log

Hi everyone, i tried to install nvidia driver version 450.51.06 from cuda toolkit 11.0 update 3. when i tried to install it failed and here’s the cuda-installer.log.

is code 256 mean something and how to fix it?

The cuda installer calls the driver installer

the driver installer failed, and it has its own log (which you should check).

I believe that driver installer log file name and location is listed later in the cuda installer log file that you have shown part of. It is usually at /var/log/nvidia-installer.log. It will generally have more details about what went wrong during the driver install.
