Hello NVIDIA team,
I am currently testing Citrix XenServer 8.4 (Citrix Hypervisor 8.4 Trial Edition) on my servers with NVIDIA RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell GPUs (96 GB).
I have successfully installed the hypervisor, but I cannot get the NVIDIA vGPU driver to load. After installing package NVIDIA-vGPU-xenserver-8-550.127.06.x86_64.rpm, the module does not load, and nvidia-smi fails with:
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver.
When I log into the NVIDIA Licensing Portal (Application Hub) and filter for XenServer, I can only see downloads up to:
- vGPU 17.4, with platform versions Citrix XenServer 8 / 8.2
Unfortunately, no vGPU 19.x packages are available for me in the portal.
My Questions:
-
Is Citrix XenServer 8.4 only supported starting with vGPU Release 19.x?
-
How can I get access to the vGPU 19.x packages for Citrix Hypervisor?
-
Is there any way to test vGPU with my Blackwell GPUs on XenServer 8.4 without Enterprise contract upgrade?
Environment Details:
-
Hypervisor: Citrix XenServer 8.4 (Kernel 4.19.0+1)
-
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell 96 GB
-
Package tested:
NVIDIA-vGPU-xenserver-8-550.127.06.x86_64.rpm -
Licensing Portal shows max: vGPU 17.4 for XenServer 8.2
Thank you for clarifying the support path for XenServer 8.4 + Blackwell GPUs and how I can access the required vGPU 19.x software.
Best regards,
