Video capture on NVIDIA Jetson Nano

Hello.
Please tell me how to correctly connect the AV PAL video signal to the NVIDIA Jetson Nano, through which converter? Next, the video should be transmitted to the monitor via HDMI.

Recommend a driver for Elgato Video Capture on Ubuntu. Will this video capture card not work?

Hello @tvboxwork11,

Your questions seems very interesting to us.

One thing you should take into account is that if the signal is interlaced, you will probably face some issues, given that the Jetson board does not support interlaced video capture from what we understand.

A few more questions if you don’t mind:

  1. What is your specific use case?
  2. What connector are you using to interface this board?
  3. Is the video capture device able to provide other signals?

Please let us know if there is something else you might need assistance with.

regards,
Andrew

Answers to the questions:

  1. We have a video camera (it is not possible to replace it with another one), which has an analog RCA output. It is necessary to transfer the picture to Jetson Nano for further processing of the received picture;
  2. Elgato Video Capture or easycap usb 2.0 is connected to USB
    NVIDIA Jetson Nano port;
  3. I cannot provide accurate information. The video capture device has only analog RCA AV input and USB output;

To have optimal solution, we would suggest have the source generating frame data in YUV422, such as UYVY or YUYV.
