What are differences between active threads and not predicated off threads?

Instructions can have a predicate as part of their encoding, like P0 or !P2. This predicate register has a true or false value, per thread. When the thread is active and executes the instruction, the predicate condition is evaluated. If it evaluates to false, the thread is considered predicated off and won’t execute the predicated instruction. You can refer to the metrics on the Source page for more detail.
