What does' Supports up to 8 split ports' mean for ConnectX-8 SuperNIC?

Hi,

According to the ConnectX-8 SuperNIC data manual, it supports two 400G Ethernet ports. Does “Supports up to 8 split ports” mean that each 400G port can be split into four 100G physical ports, totaling eight 100G physical Ethernet split ports?

yes. you would need the correct fanout fiber as well as the correct qsfp28 transceivers

Yes, that’s correct. Each 400G port on the ConnectX-8 can be split into four 100G physical ports, so with two 400G ports, you get up to eight 100G split ports in total.
