What is the complete register description for ODMDATA (PCIe/Ethernet issues)?

I am having issues deriving what all the configuration bits are doing within the ODMDATA register. I have been able to gather bits and pieces from the application notes, forum posts, and digging in the kernel, but I haven’t been able to figure out the whole thing.

I have created my own board using tegra124 and I am trying to get Ethernet to work but can’t, so I thought I may have the value configured wrong in ODMDATA.

My hardware layout requires me to set PCIe controller 1 to lane 0 (Ethernet) and PCIe controller 0 to lanes 1-4 (this configuration is use case 3 in the embedded design guide on table 40). I have set the ODMDATA variable in the jetson-tk1.conf to 0x0009C000 (default was 0x6009C000) and have set the lane_owner_info variable in extlinux.conf to 1 (default was 6). When I do an lspci, I am able to see two devices enumerated:

It is somewhat troublesome to see the Device Serial Number as all 0’s. As a result, the MAC address is all 0’s as well. I could set my own MAC address within /etc/network/interfaces and the ifconfig would show eth0, but I still don’t have network connectivity.

I thought that maybe because the ODMDATA was also responsible for setting USB configurations, that USB may be overwriting the PCIe 1 controller (now at lane 0) based on what ODMDATA is.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

I noticed that when doing a cat on /proc/interrupts on the board that I made, there are 0 interrupts. However, when looking on the Jetson TK1 board, there are interrupts.

Perhaps the correct GPIO for PCIe interrupts is not set properly? I’m not entirely sure how this works. I have tried different variations of the DTS for the pcie-controller node to no avail. My DTS for PCIe is shown below:

Could you make sure the pin config is correct according to Figure 23. Jetson PCIe Connections in the design guide?

What is the error message when ‘ifconfig eth0 up’ is executed?
Also, is this the same chip where the Device Serial number is all zeros? Has this very same chip/card been seen working in any other setup?
In PCIe, there are no side band interrupts signals.Both legacy and MSI interrupts are in-band.

Any updates on questions asked in #7 ?

It turns out that I had the pinout for the connector reversed :/ After modifying an Ethernet connector cable I was able to get it to work. Thanks for following up though.
