What level of backwards compatibility can be considered in jetson?

there is a problem that binaries built in version 4.4 do not work with versions 4.5 and 4.6.

When going from 4.4 to 4.6, there were cases where the build failed due to a fix in the TensorRT library.

Could you fix your application?

Usually the backward compatible is not the consideration for development. When new feature required at new release, then should consideration to do the upgrade.
